Momma’s Apple Pie 🥧
Of Course I may be biased but one of my favorite fall recipes is my momma’s apple pie! It’s super simple but seriously so delicious! Nothing better than a good piece of hot apple pie and a cup of tea or coffee in the fall am I right?! So if you’re in the mood for a go-to good pie! Try this one out! It never fails.<3
Recipe:
ingredients
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
3/4 Cup Sugar
3 Tablespoons Flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons Cinammon ( if you love cinammon like me add a little more! )
6-7 Granny Smith Apples
1 lemon
butter
pie crust ( whatever fits your fancy! )
instructions
Take out your pie crust and make sure it’s room temp. If you have a nice crust recipe use that and if not, Pillsbury pie crusts are hard to beat to be honest! That’s what I used. Skin and slice your apples super thin. Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Put your first pie layer into the pan. Layer half the apples in pie shell. Sprinkle half of the dry mixture on top of the apples. Layer the rest of the apples on top of mixture. Sprinkle the other half of mixture on top. Top with 1/2 fresh lemon juice then top with little bits of butter all over. Then apply your top pie crust. You can make it as pretty or as simple as you would like! I recommend 3 pie crusts if you want to make it super pretty for braiding and what not! I didn’t have 3 in the picture above so I didn’t get to make it super fun and fancy! Brush a little milk and sprinkle cinammon sugar on the crust. Put foil around the crust edges or use a crust cover to keep it from burning.
Bake on 400 degrees for 20 min.
Reduce temp to 350 degrees for 30 min.
Enjoy!🥧
