Welcome!

I hope you feel at home when you’re here! My goal as a photographer is to create moments that you not only want to hang in your home forever but that make you feel like home when looking at them.

What’s in Iri’s Easter Basket?

Easter was so exciting every year growing up as a child! My parents always made it a really special memory for us growing up and I appreciate that so much now being a parent myself! You don’t think your kids are going to care or pay that much attention but the extra effort and little details really do make it so magical for them. First and foremost Easter for us was always about Jesus rising from the grave and celebrating that together as a family. Just like Christmas we always knew why we were celebrating and it’s so exciting getting to share in that with our children now for years to come. We would always do a big Easter egg hunt and even currently my mom throws a big egg hunt with fun treats and lunch for all of the families kiddos! On Easter morning we would always wake up and be so excited to go find our Easter baskets! My mom always hid them for us and as we got older she would make clues on sticky notes and leave them around the house for us to find. It was so much fun and man all that work was so under appreciated haha! Our baskets were always specifically unique and geared to each of us and things we loved. Then we would get to have one of our treats in our basket and then get ready for Easter Sunday service together. Certain years when we lived away from all of our extended family we would drive up to stay with them or they would all come down to stay with us! No matter what year we always spent it with lots of famiy. As I got older and we moved back home ( to where my family all resides) my mom started hosting an Easter dinner and I would help prepare which I always loved. I always so looked forward to helping cook on Thanksgiving and Easter and I hope someday I get to share in that with my girls! I feel like it’s such a special thing to get to host holiday dinners. So anyways, I have very fond memories from growing up and I love to get to now create some memories with my kids. This year will be different it’s true. We won’t have a large family gathering, no service at church, and Iris won’t get to do the big Easter egg hunt with all the kids but that doesn’t mean it won’t be special! I can’t wait to hide her basket and we will do an egg hunt and run around the yard finding them with her. We will celebrate and watch service live together at home, and we still plan to have dinner but it just won’t be with the normal large family group. It will be different for sure but I’m still excited for it and getting to share it with Iris and the babe makes it so special for Jesse and I no matter what. Am I sad that I won’t see my grandparents and lots of the usual family, definitely! However, I’m choosing to see the joy in this season even when it’s hard sometimes because it’s only for a season! Not to mention this time could be such a sweet time in the sense of slowing down and just really cherishing eachother instead of being so busy. We could all take this time to reflect and remember what’s important.

So below I am listing the items that will be in Iri’s basket next Sunday and thought you might like to see! I have way too much fun picking things out for her so I very specifically picked things that remind me of her and that I knew she would love!

Each item linked below!:)

  1. New Dress: because I’m obsessed with this Soor Ploom style dress that I bought in brown for Iris last year! It was such a staple piece for her all year so naturally I got this new pretty cream color for this year!

  2. Handmade Bunny: Iris is not a huge baby doll girl BUT she is obsessed with stuffed animal dollies and I saw this little handmade bunny and knew she would just love it! With the pretty colors and the perfect carry around size I knew it would be a special new addition to her beloved collection!

  3. Basket: Grabbed this at target because it was the perfect size and cute to use for other things after!

  4. Nail polish: Iris, like pretty much every little girl, loves to paint her nails so I grabbed this little non toxic trio on sale because I knew she’d be obsessed with the pretty colors!

  5. Easy Peasy Gardening for Kids: Every time I get Iris new books I always do a little digging to find something she will love, that’s unique, and of course when it looks pretty on her shelf it’s a plus! I’m super excited about this book because Iris has a newfound love for gardening and I can’t wait to go through this book with her to teach her and honestly MYSELF more about gardening lol!

  6. Sandals: These are Iris’s staple summer sandals. They are handmade and hold up SO well and honestly it’s pretty much all she wears all summer long!

  7. New Jams: Iris LOVES her some pajamas and she’s especially in love with short sets because she’s a child that is hot a lot of the time! The second we get home she wants to be in jammies. So when I saw these new organic pajamas from Hanna Andersson I snagged them on a major SALE and got her sister a matching pair! She’s gonna Love these!

  8. Sunnies: One of my favorite shops All the Little Bows had some awesome sales recently and I grabbed these adorable sunglasses for Summer time!

  9. Ball in Cup: Honestly just saw this thought it was cute and fun and knew it would keep her occupied for awhile trying to get it haha!

  10. Up in the Garden and Down in the dirt: Saw this book and thought of Iris immediately and her love for gardening and plants and decided to grab this one on amazon too because honestly their books are so cheap and I never mind getting more books!

  11. Dollhouse Stuff: All of the dollhouse items are also from the amazing sales at All The little Bows! I grabbed a few items for Iris’s doll house because I don’t have barely any accessories for it and she’s been playing in it all the time so these pieces will be super practical! Not to mention it doesn’t get cuter!!

    Doll house chairs

    Doll house table

    Doll house macaron set

    Doll house rug

Oh, and a little something for Poppy!

I just wanted to get something for the new little babe even though she won’t appreciate it now she will be able to enjoy it a few months from now! So I got her a little “ My first bunny” that I can write in the box as a keepsake, an adorable new book to add to her shelf, and matching Jams because Iris will love that!
