I’m so excited to share with you all the details of Poppy’s first birthday party! She turned 1 in January but due to restrictions we had to postpone a few months to celebrate with family! It ended up being perfect though because her theme was inspired by spring time and we now got to celebrate it right before spring began! 🌱 I was inspired by the song Honeybee by The Head and The Heart even though the song doesn’t have to do with your children, haha! In the song it mentions not knowing where your life would be without someone and that’s how we feel about our girlies! So I found it fitting to do a honeybee and floral inspired theme for my Poppy girl!
The Cake Table: I am obsessed with the color peach this year so I wanted to incorporated shades of peach and loved this peach inspired balloon wall to give that fresh spring color, it just makes you happy! I then knew for a cake I wanted it to be artistic and original and wanted it to incorporate honeycomb and with an artistic flair and Electric City Bakehouse brought my vision to life so perfectly, per usual! I always get my cookies through Cathy who does her cookie business from home and she’s amazing! I told her I wanted to incorporate Poppy’s name with poppy flowers and have honeycomb to piece together on the table with hues of peach and soft yellow and cream and she just killed it all! Not to mention the tasty macarons by Electric City also that matched perfectly! I also adore this book called the honeybee so I wanted to incorporate that on the table too and it was the perfect little touch. 🐝
Centerpiece: For the centerpieces I wanted to incorporate honey and a colorful mixture of peach, soft yellow, and red spring flowers! I found these honey jars from Crate and Barrell and bought fresh flowers from Wegmans that morning and just loved the simplicity of the arrangements on all of the tables! I did 6 arrangements on all of the tables and it brought lots of color. The color of the flowers reminded me of our Poppy girl, full of spirit! 💛 🍯 ❤️
Food: For food I did three different types of sandwiches ( chicken salad on croissant, italian, and turkey pesto), caesar salad, and a big charcuterie display! We did lemonade and water for drinks and I did a hot tea bar so that people could use the honey on the tables! 🍇 🍯 🥪
Other details: I also bought honey and flower plates from Meri Meri ( my favorite) and I used my bee glasses from anthropologie for the silverware! 🐝 🌼
